Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 June 2026 · Version 1.2
AttunEQ exists to support parents through the most ordinary, and sometimes the most difficult, moments with their children. We take privacy seriously — for you, and especially for the children you describe to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we will never do.
The short version
- You talk to अन्वी on WhatsApp. We process those messages to respond and remember context.
- We do not collect your child's full name, school, GPS location, income, or any clinical diagnosis.
- We never sell your data. We never share message content with advertisers.
- If we ever detect a child-safety risk, we may surface emergency resources — but we do not contact authorities on your behalf.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
- We use cookies and similar technologies on our website (attuneq.ai). You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
- This policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes may be resolved through arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
- We have designated a Grievance Officer for privacy-related complaints under the DPDP Act, 2023. See Section 9.
1. Who we are
AttunEQ ("we", "us") provides a WhatsApp-based AI parenting companion for parents of children and adolescents aged 6–17 in India. The companion is named अन्वी. You can reach us at support@attuneq.ai.
2. What we collect
2.1 Information you give us through WhatsApp
- Your WhatsApp phone number (provided by Meta when you message us).
- The content of messages you send to अन्वी — text, voice notes, and images, if any.
- Lightweight profile data you share during conversation: your child's age range, gender (optional), city of residence, and the duration of your concern.
- Your responses to the daily check-ins of any 7-day Guided Intervention Plan (GIP) you choose to start.
- Information you provide when writing directly to AttunEQ (including by e-mail, contact forms on the website, or surveys).
2.2 Information we generate
- An internal categorisation of your concern (for example, screen-time, school-refusal, sleep) used to choose appropriate guidance.
- An internal severity tier (1, 2, or 3) used to decide whether to offer a home plan, suggest professional help, or surface emergency resources.
- Conversation state — which stage of the journey you are in, which day of the GIP you are on, and whether you have responded.
- Log data automatically reported by your browser when you visit our website, including IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages, number of clicks, domain names, and pages viewed. This data is used in aggregate to analyse trends and administer the website; it is not linked to personally identifiable information.
2.3 What we deliberately do not collect
To keep your family's footprint small and your child's identity protected, we do not collect:
- Your child's full name or yours beyond the WhatsApp display name.
- Your child's school name.
- Household income or financial information.
- Your child's clinical diagnoses or medical records.
- Precise location (GPS). We work at the level of city only.
- Government IDs, biometric data, or photos of your child's face.
2.4 Cookies & web technologies
When you visit the AttunEQ website (attuneq.ai), we and our third-party partners may use the following technologies:
- Cookies: small data files stored on your device that help us recognise returning visitors, maintain session state, and improve your experience. We use session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (retained to remember your preferences).
- Web beacons: electronic images (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) embedded in web pages or emails that help us track page visits and gauge the effectiveness of our communications and marketing campaigns.
- Analytics tags & scripts: used by analytics partners (such as Google Analytics) to assess website usage, track user movements around the site, and gather aggregate demographic data. This data is not linked to personally identifiable information.
You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may limit access to certain features of our website. Third-party advertising or analytics companies may also set cookies on our website; we do not control these cookies and encourage you to review those third parties' privacy policies.
3. How we use what we collect
- To respond to you. Your messages are sent to third-party large language model providers so that अन्वी can reply.
- To remember context. So you do not have to repeat yourself, we store conversation summaries and the profile data you have shared.
- To run the 7-day plan. If you accept a GIP, we schedule daily nudges and check-ins on WhatsApp.
- To keep things safe. We monitor for safety signals on every message and surface emergency resources when appropriate.
- To improve the service. We review aggregated, de-identified patterns. Reviewers do not see anything that would identify your child.
- To administer our website, monitor aggregate metrics (total views, visitors, traffic, demographic patterns), and improve the quality of our services.
- To notify you about changes to the service or this Privacy Policy.
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations under applicable Indian law, including the DPDP Act, 2023.
- To send you service-related updates, reminders, and other information useful to you through WhatsApp messages.
- For market research, troubleshooting, error prevention, fraud detection, and project planning.
- To confirm your identity and determine eligibility to use the service.
4. How we use AI
अन्वी uses third-party large language models to draft responses. अन्वी is not a therapist, does not diagnose, and does not provide clinical treatment. The AI is guided by parenting research and behavioural science, but it can still be wrong — please use your own judgment, and reach out to a qualified professional when needed.
5. Children and data
AttunEQ is a service for parents. It is not designed to be used by children. We do not knowingly collect data directly from any child. The information you share about your child is collected from you, the parent, and is used only to help you support that child.
If you are under 18 and using this service yourself, please stop and reach out to a trusted adult or to Child Helpline 1098.
6. Safety signals and escalation
If अन्वी detects signals of immediate danger to a child — for example active self-harm, abuse, or grooming — the service will:
- Pause any 7-day plan and surface emergency helplines and resources;
- Encourage you to contact a qualified professional or, in an emergency, local services.
We do not contact authorities, schools, or family members on your behalf. The decision to seek help remains yours.
7. Sharing
We share your data only with:
- Meta / WhatsApp, because that is the channel through which you reach us. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted between you and the AttunEQ business account.
- AI model providers that help अन्वी generate responses, under standard data-processing agreements.
- Cloud infrastructure providers that host our service, under standard data-processing agreements.
- Governmental and other statutory bodies who have appropriate authorisation to access data for any specific legal purpose under applicable laws, or where we are under a legal duty to disclose.
- Our consultants, legal advisors, and service providers, under strict obligations of confidentiality.
- A prospective buyer or seller in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case user data is among the transferred assets. We will notify you of any change in ownership or control of your personal data.
We do not sell your data. We do not share message content with advertisers. We do not share data with employers, schools, or insurers.
Where we disclose your information to a third party within or outside India, we ensure such parties are bound by confidentiality obligations at least as strict as those set out in this Privacy Policy, and that your information is accorded the same level of protection.
8. How long we keep data
- Conversation history: retained for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days, so we can preserve context across sessions.
- Aggregated, de-identified analytics: retained indefinitely.
- Survey and feedback data: retained for up to 24 months for service improvement purposes.
- Legal and compliance records: retained for as long as required by applicable law, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@attuneq.ai. We will delete your messages and profile within 30 days, except where the law requires us to retain them.
9. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct or update inaccurate data;
- Request erasure of your data;
- Withdraw consent and stop the service at any time;
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of incapacity or death;
- Lodge a grievance with us first, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
Grievance Officer: Amit — amit@attuneq.ai.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@attuneq.ai from the WhatsApp number you message us from. We respond within 30 days.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, role-based access controls, and audited cloud providers. WhatsApp itself provides end-to-end encryption between your device and our business account.
We implement commercially reasonable, industry-standard security measures including 128-bit encryption, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, physical security controls, electronic safeguards, technical controls, and administrative and procedural measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, use, or alteration. All information remains encrypted at all times.
No system is perfectly secure; if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
AttunEQ assumes no liability for any disclosure of information due to errors in transmission, unauthorised third-party access, or other acts or omissions beyond its reasonable control, unless such breach was caused as a direct result of gross negligence or wilful default by AttunEQ.
11. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside India (for example, in the United States or the European Union). Where this happens, we use providers with strong data-protection standards and contractual safeguards.
12. Third-party links & services
The AttunEQ website or service may contain links to third-party websites or services (including Meta/WhatsApp and AI model providers) whose privacy practices may differ from ours. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by AttunEQ of the linked website or its provider.
When you access a linked site, you may be disclosing your personal information to that third party. If you submit personal information to any third-party website, that information is governed by their privacy policy and AttunEQ disclaims all responsibility with respect to such policies or websites. You are encouraged to carefully read the privacy policy of any website you visit.
Our website may include social media features (such as share or like buttons). These features may collect your IP address, track which pages you visit, and set cookies to enable them to function properly. Social media features are governed by the privacy policies of the respective companies providing them.
13. Testimonials & user content
With your explicit prior consent, AttunEQ may display personal testimonials or success stories on our website or in marketing materials. We will not post your name, image, or any identifying information alongside a testimonial without your specific consent.
If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, please contact us at support@attuneq.ai and we will action your request promptly.
14. Opting out & withdrawal of consent
You may opt out of non-essential communications (such as promotional messages or service updates) at any time by:
- Sending a written withdrawal request to support@attuneq.ai from the email or WhatsApp number associated with your account;
- Specifically requesting removal from any marketing or promotional communications list.
Opting out of communications does not automatically delete your account or data. To request data deletion, please follow the process in Section 8. Withdrawal of consent may affect your ability to use certain features of the service.
15. Exclusion
This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information other than information collected by AttunEQ through the service or website as described herein. This Policy shall not apply to any unsolicited information provided by users through this service or through any other means, including information posted to any public areas of the website.
All such unsolicited information shall be deemed to be non-confidential, and AttunEQ shall be free to use or disclose such information without limitation.
16. Governing law & dispute resolution
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Subject to the arbitration provisions set out below, the courts at Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Policy, irrespective of the location of the user or the place of cause of action.
If any dispute arises between AttunEQ and you in connection with or arising out of the validity, interpretation, implementation, or alleged breach of any provision of this Policy, such dispute shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration shall be Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. The language of all arbitration proceedings and written decisions shall be English.
17. Severability
AttunEQ has made every effort to ensure that this Policy adheres to applicable laws. The invalidity or unenforceability of any part of this Policy shall not prejudice or affect the validity or enforceability of the remainder of this Policy.
18. No waiver
The rights and remedies available under this Policy may be exercised as often as necessary and are cumulative and not exclusive of rights or remedies provided by law. Any right or remedy may be waived only in writing. Delay in exercising or non-exercise of any such right or remedy does not constitute a waiver of that right or remedy, or any other right or remedy.
19. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will tell you on WhatsApp before they take effect. Minor edits will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
